regarding image descriptions
Q. Why write image descriptions?/How do I write a good one?
A. Image descriptions’ primary purpose is to aid the visually impaired. Blind people use tumblr through a screen reader, which do not give any descriptions for images unless we provide them. Also, tumblr just sucks, and doesn’t like to load images sometimes, so it’s helpful for that too. Or, some people may have a hard time deciphering people’s/characters’ expressions in some images, so having a clear description of what is going on is very helpful.As for tips on writing an effective ID, check out my ID FAQ tag! I reblog new stuff there pretty often.I also recommend joining The People's Accessibility Server. If you're just starting out, they'll be happy to write up descriptions for you, or aid you in writing one yourself!
